Name KUROSAKI HISOKA
Age Appears 16; is about 18 by now.
Summary: THE JUDGMENT BUREAU IN THE MINISTRY OF ENMA HOSTS THE SHINIGAMI. These elite but low-paid prestige positions are made up of kill people who should have died but didn't, help stop people from dying when they shouldn't, and deal with supernatural mysteries. The manga vacillates rapidly between death, gore, survivor's guilt, rape and rape trauma, and agonies, and wacky departmental antics. The protagonist of this manga is Asato Tsuzuki, a 96-year-old who died at 26 after not having aged since he was 18 (what the fuck), who smiles and laughs so much to cover up how desperately sad he is and burns through partner after partner because they cannot handle how desperately sad he is. The deuteragonist is Kurosaki Hisoka, an 18 year old who died at 16 who is Tsuzuki's brand new partner, an actual empath, and somehow managing to keep going despite his rapist-murderer continually hanging around causing problems for them. Recently, he decided he kind of needed a bit more fire power under the circumstances and decided to try to go get a shiki, which has caused him to be tossed into a wormhole and then the manga has been on hiatus ever since.
Canon Point: Vol 13, when Kurikara throws him into aplot wormhole right before Yami no Matsuei went on permanent hiatus.
Height/Build Small and slight. Doesn't build muscle well and died before getting his growth spurt. I FOUND A SCRIBBLED OUT 172 CM with "168 cm" written beside it on one of his pages in the Yami no Matsuei sketchbook and that is the only indicator of his height I have found. (That and Matsushita says he would have grown to 184 cm if he'd lived but ha-ha.)
Hair Color/Eye Color Pale brown / insanely bright lime green
Notable Traits Although it's invisible normally, Hisoka has a curse written on his skin! When he has memories of Muraki, nightmares of Muraki, encounters with Muraki where Muraki can trigger his curse, etc, it will appear in vivid red writing all over his skin torso and arms. So that's pretty visible when it happens, though he can cover it with a shirt. It fades a few minutes after the impetus is gone. The curse marks are red and look like this and this.
Other He's dead! As well as a shinigami it's highly implied he's at least some kind of vengeful spirit/onryo because he talks about only continuing on bc of his grudge. He's an empath, a tiny bit of a telepath, and can turn invisible and fly.
